clinics & pharmacies - Pneumatic Air Tube System

In the world of medical pneumatic tube systems, it is not just larger general hospitals that benefit from capsulated transport systems. Smaller clinics such as a GP surgery, dentist, opticians or a pharmacy can benefit from a pneumatic air tub system.

Any clinic or testing laboratory will regularly deal with samples of one description another, the sample phials, bottles or swabs, often require transportation to another room or building.

A Pharmacy Pneumatic tube system is ideal for package handling, eliminating repetitive walks back and forwards to collection points or secondary dispensaries.

Many dental practices occupy older buildings not specifically designed for the purpose and often a large old house with several floors of surgical rooms.

We have several systems installed in so described surgeries which the staff use to transport used dental procedure tools to a centralised sterilisation room, who in turn send back the sterile tools to keep the practice in supplies.

Pharmacy pneumatic air tube system: Pharmapost

One particular innovation for pharmacies equipped with robotic stocking and computerised call up to the dispensary workstation, from the pharmacy robot, is Pharmapost.

Pharmapost can be integrated with a pharmacy robot to allow distribution to a dispensary workstation at a remote location or as is often the case, on another floor level where belt conveyors are not practical.

A linear station accepts the package for the robot in an open-end type carrier, moves to the tube connected to the destination and delivers the package directly to the requested work station. The carrier stops just short of the open tube end, and the package slides out onto a cushioned basket or tray.

Opticians practices may also have remote storerooms or workshops on other floors. If a customer requires a simple repair, glasses fit perfectly into a carrier which can be dispatched and returned without the staff leaving the reception desk.
